THE SUPRACOR

The latest evolution of multifocal laser treatments is called The Supracor. It offers an innovative treatment for presbyopia. Most instances of presbyopia, whether or not associated with other visual problems, can thus be treated effectively and long term.

FOR PRESBYOPIA

Supracor can treat a wide range of patients. Indeed, it is a treatment algorithm for presbyopia which can be applied to the treatment of all other visual defects (hypermetropia, myopia, astigmatism). It can also be offered to patients who have already had LASIK treatment.

Presbyopia is a natural, age-related visual disorder that affects near vision. To correct such a disorder, the Supracor performs a reshaping of the central part of the cornea.

MULTIFOCAL TREATMENT

For the Supracor, both eyes are treated in the same way for far vision and near vision. Therefore, we speak of multifocal treatment.

Some treatments favour one eye for far vision, and the other for near vision. In this case, we talk about Monovision.

The advantage: faster adaptation to the new vision. On the other hand, treatments of the Monovision type require a longer adaptation time.

SUPRACOR: LATEST GENERATION OF TREATMENT

The Supracor is the culmination of the work of an ophthalmologist partner of our centre. He also received an “Oscar for presbyopia” presented by an American committee. He was rewarded for carrying out this work in collaboration with the company “Technolas Perfect Vision”, manufacturer of the Excimer laser.

The Supracor has obtained CE marking, which makes it a safe and reliable technology.

SUPRACOR: LASIK PROCEDURE

The Supracor is based on the Lasik. It therefore benefits from all the advantages of this technique as well as Excimer 217z100P laser technologies.

  • Simple procedure: based on LASIK which has been around for more than 15 years. The procedures for using SUPRACOR, despite being highly innovative, remain simple.
  • Tissue economy: Laser vision treatment requires a certain thickness of cornea, depending on the disorder to be treated and its degree of severity.
People with corneas that are “too” fine are not good candidates for laser treatments. There are procedures described as having “tissue economy”. They allow the treatment to be applied and require only a small thickness of tissue.
These techniques can be proposed during the SUPRACOR treatment.
  • Iris recognition: The iris of each eye is unique, like a fingerprint.
On this basis, a photograph of each iris is first taken during the preliminary examinations. Then, it is “used” by various devices, including the laser, to enhance the safety of the laser treatment. Finally, the process ends by comparing the iris photographed and that under the machine.
  • Eye-Tracker: When the treatment is being carried out, the eye can “naturally” move in several dimensions (right-left, but also up-down, as well as in rotation or cyclotorsion). In order to optimise the correction and maximise the safety of the treatments, the Eye-Tracker makes it possible to follow the movements of the eye in these 4 dimensions.

OUR ASSET: OUR EXPERIENCE

The development of this technology was carried out in collaboration between specialists from the Vision Future group and the company Technolas Perfect Vision (Bauch & Lomb).

For 15 years now we have been correcting the presbyopia of thousands of patients. They rediscovered the pleasures of a life without glasses.

This experience and this investment make Vision Future the forerunner and leader in the laser treatment of presbyopia.
