Visual defects

Unlike myopia, hyperopia is a visual disorder that results in blurred near vision and sharp distance vision. This is because the eye’s axis is too short and the image is formed behind the retina.

The symptoms

Hyperopia is often poorly detected, as it can be compensated for by accommodating vision.

In the case of hyperopia, you may experience various symptoms, such as :

  • Headaches
  • Eye fatigue

Hyperopia can be treated using 2 techniques:

  • Laser surgery (LASIK): This operation reshapes the cornea to create a more pronounced curvature in the center.
  • Intraocular implants: this surgery involves placing a lens permanently inside the eye.
